BRULE, Neb. (AP) _ A water productivity conference for irrigators is being held at the site of a new University of Nebraska-Lincoln facility in Brule. The free conference is being held Tuesday at the West Central Water Resources Field Laboratory. The conference is aimed at helping farmers and policy-makers find ways to maintain or increase harvests while conserving water. Among the sessions is one about maximizing efficiency with center pivot irrigation and one about avoiding water evaporation on corn, soybeans and wheat.
