Geneticist Leaving MARC For Pfizer

Mark Allan, Ph.D is leaving the U.S. Meat Animal Research Center (MARC) in Clay Center, Neb. to work for Pfizer Animal Genetics. Allan is leaving after five years a Research Geneticist for the United States Department of Agricultural Research Service. Allan provided leadership in DNA mapping of production traits in beef cattle, like feed efficiency and reproductive rate.

In a press release, Pfizer Animal Genetics announced Allan has been hired as the Associate Global Director of Technical Services. Allan will be responsible for providing technical support to Pfizer colleagues and customers while creating awareness of current and future genetic market technology.

Pfizer Animal Genetics is a branch of Pfizer Animal Health. Pfizer Inc. is the world's largest research-based pharmaceutical company.
