The third annual club lamb and goat silent auction for youth will be held on April 18 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM at the Scotts Bluff County Fair grounds. The sale will offer young lambs and goats that can be used for this year’s 4-H and FFA projects. Area sheep and goat producers who are members of the Western NE Sheep and Goat Association will consign the animals.
Last years animals from this sale placed very well in area youth shows, including reserve champion meat goat at both Scotts Bluff and Kimball-Banner County Fairs, plus many purple ribbon winners. To recognize outstanding achievement animals that place at the county and regional shows will be awarded money for placing. Awards will range from $50 for the overall champion to $5 for red ribbon placing. Also several items such as sheep or goat feed from Nutritional Services, York NE plus show equipment and supplies will be given to top buyers of animals. Last years top buyers received from $72 to $16 in supplies to aid in their projects.
For more information please contact Clint Riesen (308-225-0146) or any member of the Western NE Sheep and Goat Association.
