How much impact does growing U.S. ethanol production have on decisions about land use around the world? To help answer this question, the National Corn Growers Association will provide a webinar (Internet-based seminar) Oct. 10 on land use patterns in the United States and other major crop-producing countries.
The webinar will focus on a report prepared for NCGA by Informa Economics that presents a snapshot of global land use while focusing on agricultural land use and identifying historical trends and patterns impacting land use change. The goal of the webinar is to show how the expansion of the global ethanol industry is only a minor factor in global land use decisions. The webinar takes place from 9 to 10:30 a.m. CDT on Friday, Oct. 10, but participants can start logging into the system beginning at 8:30. Space is limited and reservations are required. Click here to register for the conference. To listen to the audio portion of the webinar, call toll-free at (866) 325-0587. The meeting number is 7716123.
