Colombian trade team visits Nebraska

Nebraska Wheat to Host Colombian Trade Team On Friday, July 17 Nebraska Wheat will host a trade mission of Colombian milling executives in O’Neill from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The visit to Nebraska is part of the trade mission arranged by U.S. Wheat Associates. Members of the mission include Mr. Francisco Cabal, General Manager, Molina Santa Marta, S.A., Mr. Felipe Laserna, President of CIGSA, wheat importer, Mr. Jaime Jimenez, Executive Director of DEDEMOL, Colombian Millers Association, Mr. Alavaro de la Fuente, Regional Vice President, U.S. Wheat Associates, South American Region and Ms. Rebecca Bratter, Director of Policy, U.S. Wheat Associates, Washington, DC. The purpose of the trade mission team is to present its case and benefits of the pending U.S. – Colombia Federal Trade Agreement to the Congress and the Administration. The group will be in Washington, DC during the week then visit South Dakota and Nebraska. Zoe Olson, Public Information Officer for Nebraska Wheat will serve as guide for the group during their stop in Nebraska. While in Nebraska, the team will tour the Seed House, the University of Nebraska Irrigated Wheat Test Plots on the Gene Chohan Farm, and the Tim Peterson Farm.
