Alt. Crops Specialist Meeting Panhandle Growers

Dipak Santra the new Alternative Crops Breeder for the University of Nebraska will be hosting several meetings next week to meet with area crop producers. Dr. Santra's research will focus on proso millet breeding, wheat breeding and looking at alternative crops for the region. Crop producers are encouraged to participate in a free meeting to share their needs as far as alternative crops.

Monday's meeting in Kimball will take place 9:30 - 11 at "The Diner" located at I-80 and Hwy 71 interchange in Kimball and at the Buckley Trust Building in Chappell from 1:30 - 3:00pm.

Tuesday's meetings will be in Hemingford at the Anderson Cafe' 9:30 - 11am and at the Pheasant Run Cafe' in Hay Springs 1:30 - 3pm.
