The World Trade Organization has a new representative at the helm of the Negotiating Group on Market Access for Non-agricultural products. He is Ambassador Luzius Wasescha, permanent representative of Switzerland to the WTO. Ambassador Wasescha, who was appointed at a formal meeting of the NAMA group, replaces Ambassador Don Stephenson of Canada, who left Geneva in August to take up new duties in Ottawa.

Ambassador Wasescha has been the head of the Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the WTO since April 2007. Prior to assuming his post in Geneva, Ambassador Wasescha served since September 2000 as Delegate of the Federal Council for trade agreements with the title of ambassador in the Foreign Economic Affairs Directorate of the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs.
