Ethanol Smear Campaign Funded by Grocers

National Corn Growers President Ron Litterer
National Corn Growers Association President Ron Litterer says, - frankly, our farmer-members are shocked and outraged. He calls it - simply unfathomable -that food companies, through the Grocery Manufacturers Association, would chose to smear their farmer-suppliers rather than cooperate with us to meet the growing challenge for America’s fuel needs. Other campaigns may be in the works to – designed to place the blame for higher food prices on agriculture.
NCGA is on the offensive. This week, Litterer kicked off a series of radio talk-show interviews with stations ranging from Seattle to Boston to Atlanta, with more planned in the days ahead. And NCGA Chief Executive Officer Rick Tolman was interviewed on Bloomberg Television Wednesday evening, where he squared off with the author of a disputed study on land-use impacts of corn growers.
