WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) _ Some of the world's top biofuels researchers will gather at Purdue University this week for a conference on the future of the renewable fuels industry. Tuesday's ``Growing the Bioeconomy'' conference will examine the challenges and opportunities for agriculture in the biofuels industry. Renowned global environmental science expert James Lovelock will deliver the keynote address. Speakers will address a wide range of topics, including the emerging markets for biofuels produced from corn stalks and leaves, switchgrass and other types of plant fibers. The conference is part of a collaborative effort between Purdue and sister land-grant universities in 11 other Midwestern states.
