
Elsie J. Farley, age 86 of Greeley, CO formerly Kimball, NE, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at North Colorado Medical Center in Loveland, CO. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 4th, at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Kimball with Pastor Lynda Peterson officiating. Burial will be held in the Kimball Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00-6:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 3rd, at Cantrell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the American Heart Association. Cantrell Funeral Home of Kimball is in charge of arrangements.
Elsie Joan Farley was born in Kimball on May 17, 1924, the daughter of Ray and Amelia (Mikkelsen) Roberts. After completing high school she attended business school and moved out into the working world. Elsie married Kyle "Junior" Collinsworth and to this union Caroline Ann and Nancy June were born. She lived in Greeley. She later moved to rural Weld County where she had been raised. Elsie married Keith Farley in 1954 and to this union Donna was born. Elsie and Keith enjoyed life in the farming community sharing time with family and friends. After Keith's death in 1991 she remained on the farm for several years, blessed by the help of compassionate friends. In 1997 Elsie moved back to Greeley to be near her family. She remained in Greeley until her death. Survivors include her daughters, Carol and hus-band Frank Luark of Cheyenne, Wyo., Nancy Anderson and fiancé Lynn Ford of LaSalle, Colo. and Donna Farley Forrest of Portland, Ore.; grandchildren, Michelle Johnson, Kim Juarez, Charlie Luark, Jodi Krautschun, Eric Luark, Alicia Key and Brianna Forrest; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Junior Roberts; sisters, Maryann Frederick and Dorothy Eckas. Preceding her in death were her parents and both husbands.
