SPS Advisory council off to a good start

Approximately 40 people turned out Tuesday night for the first meeting of the Scoptsbluff school district's Advisory Council, a group that is designed to work with the district to improve communications with constitutents and other issues facing students and parents.

Superintendent Rick Myles says the first meeting was basically a "get to know each other '' meeting. But he says the group was asked to provide information on providing community dialogues on the district website.

Myles says the best thing about the meeting is those attending truly seem committed to the council and plan to attend as regular as possible. The council will meet on a monthly basis.
