Engineering RFP to go out on Bluffs trail

The Scottsbluff city council will consider Monday evening putting out a request for proposals for engineering and consulting services on the Monument Valley Pathway North project, a 29,000 square foot bicycle and pedestrian trail that will stretch from Riverside Park to the Landers Soccer complex.

Scottsbluff City Manager Rick Kuckkahn says construction is not anticipated to begin until August of 2014, but when complete, it will be THE alternate transportation trail for residents of the city.

The trail will include West Overland, Avenue I, 20th Street, 27th Street and Highway 26 and an ADA pedestrian bridge over Highway 26. The pathway is being funded through a close to three million dollar state grant that includes a local match. Kuckkahn says the trail will be the "spine" for branching into the rest of the community.
