KNEB News has learned an Oklahoma couple has purchased a Morrill County property that was the home of a mustang ranch whose former owner faces trial concerning the malnourishment and death of horses and burros this past April. The Morrill County Clerk's office confirms paperwork was filed Tuesday indicating the nineteen hundred acre 3-Strikes Ranch was sold by Jason and Annissa Meduna to Dana and Kylie Green of Kingston, Oklahoma.
The documents indicate the ranch was sold for $485,000. It is currently assessed at $363,000, but the county is in the process of re-assessing all of its property and Assessor Rose Nelson says the current figure is being updated. The property consists of pastureland, a house and outbuildings.
Jason Meduna, 42, is facing trial in January for 149 counts of cruel neglect of an animal. A total of 74 horses and burros were found dead at the ranch, which is 22 miles south of Alliance. The next hearing on the case is scheduled for December 8th.
