Taco De Oro Broken into Monday Evening

A burglary occurred early Monday afternoon at Taco De Oro in Scottsbluff. A pickup was used to ram into the back entrance of the building, pushing open the door to allow entry. The owner, John Cervantes, discovered the break-in at about 5:30 Monday evening. Taco De Oro is closed for business on Mondays. Upon searching the premise, it was discover that a gray cash box was missing containing about $500.00. The police used an on-site surveillance video to identify the suspect. From the video, a license plate number and description of the pickup and the suspect lead the Police to arrest James Bernhardt, age 52. Bernhardt was taken to County Jail and charged with Burglary and Criminal Mischief.
