United Way sets challenging goals
Published Monday, June 29, 2009 at 06:54 PM

The United Way of Western Nebraska has six campaign co-chairs this year and two challenging goals, raising $350,000 and getting the compaign completed by the end of October, essentially essentially a three month effort. The half a dozen leading the campaign are all from local banks including Marv Hefti from First State Bank. Hefti says raising a good amount of money in a difficult economy will be tough but can be done.

The other campaign chairs are Dave Bartlett from First National Bank, Kathy Holten from Tier One Bank, Hod Kosman with Platte Valley Companies, John Stinner from Valley Bank, Jeanne McKerrigan from U.S. Bank.

Executive Director Roxann Backer says the campaign has drifted into the new year in the past, and she feels hitting it hard from August through October will help the United Way Staff and allow the nineteen funded agencies to know what their allocation is a little earlier.
