Democrat Rebekah Davis filed Monday to run for Congress in central and western Nebraska’s Third District.

Rebekah Davis graduated from Alliance High School before attending Indiana University and Yale Divinity School, and eventually becoming a resident in Alegent Health’s chaplaincy program.

Davis, running for the congressional seat currently held by Republican Adrian Smith, says she is a centrist Democrat whose philosophy is based by her core values shaped as she grew up in Alliance and in her profession as a chaplain.

Davis says she’s campaigning on issues including tapping Nebraska’s wind energy potential and expanding affordable broadband access.
