Police consolidation comittees to meet Wednesday

The first meeting of a committee formed to look into the financial feasibility of combining the Scottsbluff and Gering Police departments will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Gering City Hall. The Gering members on the committee include of City Administrator Lane Danielzuk, Gering Finance Director Jon Mejia, and council members Jill McFarland and Dan Smith Scottsbluff members include City Manager Rick Kuckkahn, Finance Director Renae Griffiths, and council member Ray Gonzales.
The finance committee will meet an hour after a committee charged with recommending an organizational structure for a combined police department holds their second meeting at 6 p.m., also at Gering City Hall.
