Fireworks sales and discharge begin Wednesday

Fireworks go on sale Wednesday and continue through the fourth of July. Scottsbluff and Gering ordinances allow for the discharge from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. June 25th through July 3rd and then from 8 a.m. until midnight on July 4th. Possessing or discharging fireworks in any of the city parks is strictly prohibited.
Police encourage parental supervision and always have water handy to soak spent fireworks. Light only one firework at a time, never relight a "dud" and don't point or throw fireworks at other people or moving vehicles or from moving vehicles.
