OGALLALA, Neb. (AP) _ Keith County authorities say an investigation is under way after a 9-year-old Ogallala boy was found dead in his family's home.

Keith County Attorney Blake Edwards says emergency personnel responding to the scene were unsuccessful in their attempts to resuscitate Tyler Evan Anderson after being called to the home Wednesday night by his parents. The boy was pronounced dead at Ogallala Community Hospital a short time later.

An autopsy has been ordered, but Edwards says the cause of death appears to be strangulation. He says it's unclear if the incident will be treated as a homicide or accidental death. Edwards says the family recently moved to town and had been busy unpacking when the death occurred.
