AINSWORTH, Neb. (AP) _ An Ainsworth man was killed in a crash as he was heading home from his uncle's funeral.

The Brown County sheriff's office says 66-year-old Leroy Preble drove his SUV into a ditch west of Ainsworth about 9 p.m. Saturday. Preble was thrown from the vehicle. He was taken to an Ainsworth hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Preble was returning from Hays Springs, where he had attended the funeral of his uncle, 89-year-old Harold Ofe of rural Chadron. ___
