Dugout Creek residents return to homes after evacuation
Published Thursday, June 11, 2009 at 08:35 AM

Residents evacuated Wednesday evening due to flooding in the Dugout Creek area two miles north of Bridgeport have returned to their homes. Bridgeport city administrator Bill Boyer says waters that were threatening the resident's homes receded late Wedesday evening.

The Bridgeport Fire Department assisted those in the Dugout Creek area concerning their brief evacuation and re-entry into their homes.

Boyer says there was not much damage in the city other than street flooding. Boyer says there were a couple of homes in the rural area that had water to the foundation or beyond, and damage is still being assessed today (Thursday).

Boyer says Bridgeport has received rain for ten consecutive days.
