Five businesses fail latest alcohol compliance checks

Five businesses failed in the latest series of alcohol compliance checks done by Project Extra Mile and, the Nebraska State Patrol.

The five include Loaf 'N Jug of Gering, which failed the compliance check for the sixth time since 1997 but the first time since 2006. Two of the other businesses found in non-compliance had prior violations regarding sale of alcohol to minors...... The VFW in Gering (May of 2000) and Whiskey Creek Steakhouse (May of 2002 and February of 2007).

The Tee Box in Mitchell and the Oriental House restaurant in Scottsbluff also failed the latest compliance checks.

Seventy businesses were involved in the compliance checks, which means the 7% non compliance rate was the highest rate since 10% failed in 2007.
