
Dr. George Schlothauer says over 140 volunteers and 260 members of the dental industry have signed up to assist with the Mission of Mercy free dental clinic next Friday and Saturday, October 10th and 11th at the Mitchell Event Center.
More than a thousand patients are expected to receive cleanings, fillings, sealant, extractions, limit root canal and lab work root during the two day event. there will be a separate area just for child care.
Dr. Schlothauer , chairman of the organizing committee, says there are no income requirements for those attending the 90 chair free dental clinic other than patients must be 19 years of age or accompanied by a parent. T
he area Kiwanis Clubs are providing a free breakfast each morning at the event, which begins both days at 6 a.m. and runs until late afternoon. The United Way of Western Nebraska, the Scotts Bluff County Volunteer Center, Scottsbluff Rotary, the Oregon Trail Foundation, and the Regional West Foundation are providing volunteers or funding for the project. The Soroptomists are providing child care for the event. Runza, McDonalds, Target, Wal-Mart, and the Gering Bakery are among those providing food for the volunteers.
