Two Bayard men were killed early Sunday morning in a one vehicle rollover accident just east of McGrew. The Scotts Bluff County Sheriff's office says 21 year old Frank Nerud and 43 year old James Smith died in the accident around one Sunday morning near the intersection of County Road U and County Road 35.

The Sheriff's office says the 1997 Dodge pickup was eastbound on County Road U when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it went off the north side of the road. the vehicle rolled and came to rest on its top. Both victims were ejected from the vehicle and no seat belts were in use. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene. The accident is still under investigation.

The Nebraska State Patrol, the Minatare Police Department, Valley Ambulance, the Minatare volunteer Fire Department and the Scotts Bluff County Attorney's office all responded to the scene.
