After days of wintry weather hitting the Wyo-Braska region, Interstate 80 & Highway 30 are now open. A spokeswoman with the Wyoming Highway Patrol said the westbound lane opened at 9 a.m. and the eastbound at 11 a.m.

I-80 and U.S. Highway 30 were closed from Ogallala westbound into Wyoming, while Eastbound lanes in Nebraska were open.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation reports that much of

I-80 between Rawlins and Cheyenne has strong winds and slick spots.

In some sections the speed limit has been reduced to 50 mph.

Highways are starting to reopen in southeast Wyoming after being closed because of the snowstorm.

An attempt Friday afternoon to reopen westbound lanes of I-80 at limited speeds failed when a truck jackknifed, blocking the interest between Cheyenne and Laramie.

Eastbound I-80 remained closed from Rock Springs to Cheyenne.

I-25 is open in both directions but officials are advising no unnecessary travel in the Cheyenne area.
