One of two Scotts Bluff County Habitat for Humanity Homes being built at 15th Street and 10th Avenue in Scottsbluff was moved from Gering to that location with the help of volunteers and donations.
The shell of the home, built by Gering's construction class, was placed on the foundation by a crane from R & C Crane services at no cost and Magnolia Homes donated their time to bring the home from Gering to the location.
Habitat for Humanity Construction Supervisor Dan Ramsey says he's pleased with the partnership "Habitat" has with the Gering schools system.
Delia Marquez and her daughter will occupy one of the homes. Nathan and Mandy Cole and their infant son Isaiah will be the owners of the other home. In each case, the families are required to put in a sweat equity investment in the homes.
Habitat for Humanity Construction Supervisor Dan Ramsey says building more than one home this year is something new for the local organization.
