Gordon woman survives rollover
Published Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 07:22 PM
A Gordon woman is safe despite a rollover accident south of Chadron at little before 10 this this morning...thanks in part to her cell phone. 26-year old Kelissa Lein was able to call 911 in Chadron to report her accident, but couldn't tell dispatchers where she was.

Lein said she knew it was south of Chadron on Highway 385 and while her car had rolled to where she couldn't see the highway, she could still hear the traffic.

Keeping her on the phone, dispatchers had rescue units from Chadron and Hemingford run with their sirens on. Lein told the dispatcher when she heard the sirens, and the rescue units were eventually able to find her in the Table area of southern Dawes County.

Lein complained of severe back pain with tingling and numbness in her hands and feet, so she was taken to Chadron Community Hospital...where she's described as resting with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
