The Scottsbluff City Council will consider a lease agreement with Twin Cities Baseball for development of an indoor baseball, softball and golf practice facility at Cleveland Field. Scottsbluff attorney Bob Pahlke had indicated previously much of the $400,000 cost for the 10,000 square foot steel building had either been raised or promised with in-kind donations. There is also expected to be a number of groups who are willing to pay fees for use of the facility.
The council will also hear a presentation from the Parks department on progress at Riverside Park over the last several months. Among the things accomplished have been removal of the unsafe stone shelter, installation of Disc Golf, plans for an arboretum, and removal of invasive Russian olive trees. Plans for picnic shelters, removal of old playground equipment, and the additional of visitor kiosks will be discussed.
