Power fully restored after wind causes outage
Published Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 08:55 AM
Roosevelt Public power says power was restored at 9:15 am to all areas impacted by a major outage early this morning. Dennis Duffield, Roosevelt Public Power District manager, says high winds caused an insulator to break in the Mitchell Substation, resulting in the outage around 5:30 this morning.

The city of Mitchell had power restored around 7:45 a.m. The other areas impacted were north and south of Mitchell and north of Scottsbluff. Duffield estimates a little over 2,500 customers at some time were without power.
