Scottsbluff High will hold its first Fall Play Festival this coming Tuesday, featuring one act plays from four different high schools around the region. Students from Banner County, Morrill, Alliance and Scottsbluff will present the plays, starting at 5 p.m., with an hour allotted in between each school's production.
Scottsbluff will present "The Laramie Project", which focuses on the death of gay University of Wyoming student Matthew Shepard Drama Department Director Kara Rada says while taking up the play was controversial at first, she and the students have educated people on what the play is truly all about.
Rada is hoping the festival can be a year long event. Cost for the evening is $5, $4 for students. The doors will be closed during the first thirty minutes of each hour while the plays are being performed, but will be open during the last thirty minutes of each hour while the sets are being torn down and set up.
