Sterling Man Dies From Injuries Suffered In Cheyenne County Accident

Alcohol is suspected in a fatal crash Friday evening in Cheyenne County three and a half miles southwest of Sidney. Cheyenne County Attorney Paul Schaub says 34 year old Chad Chanchola of Sterling died when he drove his pickup through the intersection of Highway 19 and County Road 19-A and then rolled it in the south ditch. Chanchola was ejected and sustained fatal injuries

A passenger in the vehicle, 37 year old Anthony Moreno, also of Sterling, was trapped in the pickup but was released from the vehicle through the efforts of the Sidney volunteer fire department and the Sidney ambulance crew. Moreno was taken to Memorial Health Center in Sidney for treatment of his injuries. The accident happened around 7 p.m.
