Scottsbluff YMCA gets landscaping grant
Published Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 10:51 AM

The Scottsbluff YMCA has received a ten thousand dollar grant from the Trees for Nebraska Towns program to assist with landscaping efforts around the Trails West YMCA Camp. The YMCA's Dave Koehler says the grant will be used to help make improvements the "Y" has been working on since it acquired Camp Kiwanis in 2000.

The "Y" has removed dead cottonwood and Russian olive trees and will use the grant and matching fundsso they can put in 60 or more trees at the camp. 27 grants were given under the program managed by the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum and funded by the Nebraska Environmental Trust.
