Rural Bayard woman faces six felonies

A 43 year old rural Bayard woman accused of leading authorities on a forty minute pursuit after an attempted robbery faces at least six felonies. Scotts Bluff County Attorney Derek Weimer says he plans to file charges of robbery, two counts of use of a weapon to commit a felony, second degree assault, felony fleeing to avoid arrest and possession of methamphetamine against Carrie Hubley .

Scottsbluff Police say Hubley attempted to stab a convenience store clerk when he confronted her about allegedly shoplifting cigarettes and other items. The suspect then fled the scene and the resulting pursuit by law enforcement agencies moved through Scottsbluff and Terrytown before it ended a mile north of Minatare when a State Patrol trooper's vehicle pushed Hubley's off the road Authorities say Hubley brandished a tire iron when she got out of the vehicle before being subdued.

Scottsbluff Police say the pursuit never exceeded speeds of 60 miles per hour. Police say Hubley is also accused in the theft of gas from Route 26 Mini Mart in Scottsbluff prior to the robbery.
