As prison workers arrive Goshen County short on housing
Published Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 10:44 AM
As workers begin arriving for training at the new Torrington prison scheduled to begin in mid-September, they are finding problems obtaining housing. Goshen County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Ronda Schulte says a number of the incoming workers have been asking for the names of landlords who can help them out. Schulte says there has been some rental property constructed on the east end of town, but generally speaking the additional housing for the new prison workers has not been built yet.

Schulte says if residents have basements or even a room that might be available for rent, she would like them to consider it Schulte says while the workers would obviously prefer to have something in Torrington, she is encouraging them to look into available units in surrounding communities like Yoder, Lingle and even Morrill.

If you have housing available for potential residents contact the chamber at (307) 532-3879 or send an e-mail to goshencountychamber.com
