Woman cited for DWI after side-swiping 4 cars in Gering
Published Friday, November 13, 2009 at 11:02 AM

A Scottsbluff woman sideswiped four cars on 10th Street in Gering Friday morning, apparently due to an overdose of prescription drugs. Scotts Bluff County Deputy Sheriff Troy Brown says 43 year old Nila Mette was stopped in the middle of the intersection at 10th & O Streets when she took off as he tried to offer assistance.

Brown said he chased Mette for several blocks before she stopped after striking a parked car at 10th and K Streets. Brown said Mette struck three other cars on 10th Street prior to his contact with her. The total damage to the cars is still being assessed, and Brown said a drug evaluation was planned after Mette was cited for DWI due to an overdose of prescription drugs.
