Land O'Lakes provides matching Grant Funds

KNEB and Panhandle Coop teamed up to "Pack the Pickup" for the local food pantry at Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska on Friday, November 20th and Saturday, November 21st. Susan Wiedeman, Marketing Director at Panhandle Coop says the food drive was very successful with over $600.00 in cash collected.

A matching grant was submitted to Land O'Lakes, as they will match up to $500 in monetary donations. Wiedeman says that matching grant check has been received and was presented to Roy Lawton, The Outreach Director at the Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska.

Land O'Lakes Executive Director, says they are committed to rural communities and pleased to work with Panhandle Co-op and KNEB in helping to provide supplies for the food pantry.

Roy Lawton, Outreach Director for the Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska, says the cash donations allow the purchase of food supplies when certain items run out. Lawton says the food requests this year have increased by 20%. Thanks to everyone who made cash and food donations.
