LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) _ The Nebraska State Patrol says three traffic stops on Interstate 80 have resulted in the seizure of more than 500 pounds of marijuana and the arrest of five people. The busts occurred over six hours Wednesday night and early Thursday.
The patrol says the biggest involved a 20-year-old Omaha woman stopped near Utica. Tipped by a drug-sniffing dog, a trooper found 17 bales of marijuana totaling 471 pounds beneath a cover in the bed of the woman's pickup.
A total of 55 pounds of pot was found in the two other stops. About 38 pounds was found in a York County stop and about 17 pounds in a stop near Lincoln. Four people were arrested after those stops.
