State Tourism Director Says He Still Expects Big Travel Year

The Travel Industry Association of American has released a survey showing 6 out 10 people will not alter their travel plans they have already made. That means visitors will make pinch elsewhere to take a trip. Sixty percent will use their rebate checks for atleast one overnight travel or day trip for leisure.

The Gering Convention and Visitors Bureau is celebrating National Tourism Week. During their annual meeting Nebraska Division of Travel and Tourism Director Christian Hornbaker says this will benefit Nebraska.

Hornbaker says visitors will appreciate all the activities you can do out here as well as destinations within 100 mile radius as people will be staying closer to home.
