A South Dakota man has pleaded guilty to attempting to steal a car from a woman in the Alliance Pizza Hut parking lot earlier this month (March 1).

18 year old Clarence W. Yellow Hawk of Allen, South Dakota entered guilty pleas to two felonies earlier this week, including attempted robbery and terroristic threats.

In exchange for his guilty pleas, the state dismissed charges of theft and use of a weapon to commit a felony.

Yellow Hawk remains in the Box Butte County Jail on a $100,000 bond and will be sentenced April 30.

Yellow Hawk failed in his attempt to hijack the car, but found an unoccupied vehicle a few blocks from the Pizza Hut moments later. He was apprehended a short time later following a pursuit on Box Butte County roads by a Box Butte County Sheriff’s Deputy.
