Scottsbluff council to hold hearing on Avenue B relocation
Published Saturday, July 05, 2008 at 09:38 AM

The Scottsbluff City Council will hold a public hearing Monday night on the planned relocation of the north end of Avenue B. The change is being done to allow for a remodeling of Regional West Medical Center's surgical suite so the surgery rooms are enlarged and brought up to medical standards... and to allow for expansion of the radiology department.

The $2.5 million relocation, to be paid for entirely by the hospital, would force the relocation of Apria Health Care and use of a private drive adjacent to Emmanuel Congregational Church for the new north end of Avenue B.

At the planning commission meeting in late May the hospital indicated it would have no problem executing purchase agreements with both Apria and the church, was willing to accept hospital ownership and maintenance of the detention pond, and providing landscaping in certain areas.
