Kinsey files for re-election to Scottsbluff school board

Scottsbluff School Board President Bob Kinsey has filed for re-election to the school board. Kinsey said after serving on the board for twelve years, he spent a lot of time thinking about running for another four year term. But he felt it was important to have some experience on the board as new Superintendent Rick Myles takes over July 1st for Dr. Gary Reynolds.

Kinsey says it took two or three years on the board to get a good grasp of how public education is funded in the state and he hopes that knowledge will help as the board and the new superintendent deal with a reduction in state aid. Kinsey says Myles was at a board work session Monday night where they reviewed some of the challenges facing them in the next fiscal year.
