YMCA night at Cougar volleyball game against EWC

The Western Nebraska Community College and Eastern Wyoming College volleyball game Tuesday evening will feature two squads that had successful runs in the Wyo-Braska Shootout.

The No. 4-ranked Cougars finished the tournament 6-0 while the Lancers finished with a 4-2 mark. Tuesday's Highway 26 showdown begin at 7 p.m. The Lingle-Ft. Laramie and Leyton volleyball teams will also square off before hand with varsity action beginning at 4:30 p.m. WNCC Athletic Director Jennifer Pedersen said that Tuesday night will be YMCA night as all active members of the Scottsbluff/Gering YMCA will get in for $3. YMCA members need to pick up their tickets at the YMCA front desk. The last time the two squads faced each other was on Sept. 8 when the Cougars won 25-8, 25-10, 25-22. That Cougars are in the midst of a 12-game winning streak. Last week, WNCC won seven matches, beginning with a grueling five-set win at No. 18 Casper College 18-25, 24-26, 25-21, 25-11, 15-13. They then beat Colby, Air Force Prep, Sheridan, Laramie County, Northwest Wyoming and Western Wyoming. The Lancers, over the weekend, topped McCook, Trinidad State and Dawson in three sets, and defeated Lamar in four sets.
