
Two more area teams earned births in next weeks state golf tournaments Tuesday at the Class C district tournament in North Platte. Kimball finished second and Bridgeport third to qualify for the two day state tourney at the Kearney Country Club beginning Tuesday.
North Platte St. Pat's won the meet with a 330. That was four strokes better than Kimball. Bridgeport was third with a 345.
St. Pat's had the meet medalist in Jordan Arensdorf, who fired a 73. That was six strokes better than second place Nick Kuxhausen of Mitchell. He qualifies for the state meet as well as the top ten individuals along with the top three teams will head to Kearney.
Morrill's Tyler Huston also qualified for the state tournament by finishing third with an 80. Kimball placed three in the top ten. Kendall Ferguson was fourth with an 80, Anthony Robinson was sixth with an 81 and Michael Robinson tied for tenth with an 83.
Bridgeport placed Destry Sterkel ninth with an 82 and Bayard qualified John Ostdiek, who finished in that tenth place tie with an 83.
Class C and D teams will play courses in Kearney next week. Class A and B teams will play in Lincoln.
