Nebraska Native Begins His Trek to Benifit the Boys and Girls of Boys Town
Published Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 12:42 PM

Ultra-runner Scott Giddings of Omaha started his 480-mile trek across the state of Nebraska this morning on the Nebraska-Wyoming border at Henry. The Girls and Boys Town employee is doing his "Landmark Run" to benefit his school and their aftercare program.

He says, "Life is a marathon, not a sprint. I want the youth at Girls and Boys Town to use this portion of their life, however difficult it might be and whatever struggles they might be going through, as a first-step towards better things."

Giddings is 38-years old. He was born in North Platte and raised in Hastings. He has worked at Boys Town since leaving the Air Force in 1997. He has a wife, Stacie and daughters Jordyn and Kolby, who are both runners in the Ralston Public School system.

The public can follow and support the Landmark Run by visiting www.girlsandboystown.org/landmarkrun.
