
Some familiar names were atop the standings at the end of the 20th Anniversary Sugar Valley Antique Car Rally that wrapped up Sunday.
After two days of competition the top team was the team of Kenneth and Sharon Cheney of Lincoln. The longtime veteran's of the SVR competing in the rally's oldest car, a 1915 Ford Speedster, turned in a time of 13.1 seconds in the limited pro division.
Another veteran Lincoln team, Gary and Scott Kuck, finished second overall, while winning the pro unlimited title in a time of 13.5 seconds. They drove a 1917 Hudson Indy Racer.
The non pro unlimited title went to Chriss and Shawn McDiffett of Norton, Kansas. Their time was 35.2 seconds in a 1930 Chevrolet Roadster. The non pro limited title went to Wendy Wendrock and Harry Ploch of San Antonio, Texas in a 1948 Dodge Pickup. Their time of 14.7 seconds was nearly ten seconds ahead of the second place car.
Wendrock and Ploch also won the "Truck of the Year" award. The limited class rookie's of the year were Bill and Marilyn Blue of Brush, Colorado. They also won the "Hard Luck" throphy for their 1930 Ford Model A.
The unlimited rookie's of the year were Jonathan Sibray and Kimberly Krause of Edgewood, New Mexico in a 1968 Datsun SPL311. Both rookie teams were competing in the new touring class.
